A view with the Annapurna Close is the Hiunchuli mountain, an extension of Annapurna South. Between this peak and Machapuchare is a narrow section of the Modi Khola valley that provides the only access to the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Hiunchuli mountain is called the killer peak due to the many mountaineers who died in the climb. Finally, Mount Machapuchare that is revered by the local population as particularly sacred to the god Shiva, and hence is off limits to climbing.
