Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m) – Airport Pickup

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, i will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you can relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub filled with shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. In the evening, you will receive a briefing about your upcoming trek.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m) – 6 to 8 Hours

After breakfast, begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara along the Prithvi Highway. The journey offers beautiful views of terraced hills, traditional villages, rivers, and distant Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival in Pokhara, check in to your hotel and enjoy a leisurely walk around the lakeside area of Phewa Lake.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m) – 4 to 5 Hours

After breakfast, drive to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. From here, begin walking through charming villages, terraced farmlands, and lush forests. Passing through Birethanti and several traditional settlements, the trail gradually ascends to Tikhedhunga.

Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,874m) – 6 to 7 Hours

Today’s trek involves climbing the famous stone staircase to Ulleri village. From Ulleri, continue through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests while enjoying stunning mountain views. The trail gradually ascends to Ghorepani, one of the most popular villages in the Annapurna region.

Day 05: Early Morning Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,630m) – 6 to 7 Hours

Before sunrise, hike to Poon Hill, the highlight of the trek. Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayan giants, including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Nilgiri. After enjoying the spectacular panorama and taking photographs, return to Ghorepani for breakfast.

Later, continue trekking through dense rhododendron forests and scenic ridges to reach Tadapani.

Day 06: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1,940m) and Drive to Pokhara – 4 to 5 Hours Trek / 2 Hours Drive

The trail descends through forests to the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk. This traditional settlement offers magnificent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Explore the village and learn about local culture before driving back to Pokhara.
Spend the evening relaxing by Phewa Lake or exploring Pokhara’s lively lakeside area.

Day 07: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu – 6 to 8 Hours

After breakfast, return to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Enjoy the scenic countryside during the journey. In the evening, you may join a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of your trek.

Day 08: Final Departure
