Upper Mustang Trek

Upper Mustang

Trekking in Upper Mustang gives you the chance to explore a terrain few travellers have been to. The Mustang, inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin, can only be entered with a special permit. Most of the route keeps to arid high deserts, featuring old monasteries and great rivers. The highlands extend northward while the peaks of Annapurna and Nilgiri mark the horizon in the south. There are few places in the Himalaya that are like Mustang.

Along with insights into the lives of the people of “Lo” you will learn more about their culture and get a look at Lama Buddhism.
